~ 1967 1603 Datejust

Just got my 1603 back from a full service ( Tom M - Crown Jewelers in Clackamas, OR. ) this week and thought I would share a pic or two.

It's a 164xxx serial with a mint original "oyster-perpetual" silver/cream hyphen dial. It still has some tritium life left to it beleive it or not.

Just to change it up, I had Tom install a 1601 WG bezel I had laying around. Figured I would run with that for a while and can always re-install the SS engine turned bezel later.

Does anyone know when Rolex stopped using the hyphen between the Oyster & Perpetual on Datejust dials? I know it appears on some ealy GMT Dials and on 50's Datejusts. Seems hit and miss on 60's datejusts. Any insight from the vintage experts would be appreciated.

Thanks, Greg

My 1603 from 1968 has the hyphen.

I don't think there is a pattern.
