New Pull 16750 GMT Master Pepsi FF Bezel

Finally ticked the GMT box this month. It's a ~1983 range 7,6XX,XXX. It's got a no-date dial, would love some opinions on this, I know there is some debate around when the first WG Surround No-Date's stated showing up.

Dial has a great patina and the markers are a great dark cream color, matching on the minute and hour hands, bit darker on the 24H and Seconds hand.

Dial does have a drag mark under the hour hand, had the guys at LAWW check the alignment looks fine now must have been from a previous service. Not sure on the history. Pressure test and timing all looking good.

It came with a niced faded skinny font bezel, wasn't crazy about the lighter red shade so sourced a nice FF from a forum member, guys at LAWW did the swap also.

Case has some decent lugs, would have loved a crisper case but these are getting priceyyyyy.

Came with a couple accessories but far from complete. The set had the wrong box so I sourced the right one.

Thanks to Viper for the FF bezel and thanks to Edvi and the team at LAWW for doing the work so quick

You'll get the same debate again here on whether the dial is correct with the serial number falling well within the matte dial era.

Enjoy your watch!

JP I think I’ve seen you quoted saying that 8,3XX,XXX is where you expect to see the earliest “no dates”? That be towards the end of 1983 then?

Non-date surround dials were 1984 from what I've seen, both in the 16750 and 16760. 8.3x to 8.6x range.

Quite logical it early on received a new dial. As common as it was in the late 60’s when people wanted the new cool matte dials instead of gilt I imagine people wanted the new glossy white gold surrounds dial when they serviced the watch right after the change from matte.

This was my guess as well. Someone Bought it matte, saw that a new fancy white gold(!) dial had just been released and wanted it changed.

So.......WHo has a matte 16750 Matte dial with a nice patina to sell me!???

It may be easier to start over with a different 16750 than to source a nice matte dial that will match your existing hands.

Looks like an early service dial is a possibility. Here's a 7.2x serial (1981/1982 depending on the chart) with what Jacek noted as a service dial. Typefaces and alignment match your dial above.
