Datejust circa 1972
Hello everyone! I am new to the forums as I have just gotten my first Rolex. I am 21 and hope to collect more! I purchased the Rolex on eBay and took it to my local Fine Jeweler and made sure it was real. The serial number dates it back to 1972 and it runs Perfect and is flawless! I LOVE IT! sooo my question is how often do I have to wind it and is it possible to over-wind?

The Rolex is made to stay working as long as you wear it. However normally people aren't always active enough to top off the power supply during normal wearing of the watch. The watch will typically run more efficiently when it stays wound versus at the lower end of the spectrum. Some will give it 40 winds once a week just to top it off. Don't worry you can't overwind your Rolex.
Congrats and enjoy.

Nice one,
My old DJ is around 71/72 and has the 1575 movement non quickset.

You are right your pic does not do the watch justice. I have the exact same watch from 1971... A date just 1601 TT 14k/SS on a jubilee band with a silver pie pan stick dial.... A true classic!
Excellent first choice.
