What sold you on your last purchase???

Okay...So you're looking for a particular piece....You scour the ads, place a few WTB's, etc....
Then you see it....And the first thought that comes to mind is; "I have to have it!!!"

Why???
What was it about that watch that "got" to you???

The completeness, the fact that it looked like a great example, and the fact Ken said it was good to go.

I agree if Ken says is a winner then it's worth buying :)

The THC was my last [new] purchase. The features [chrono function, second timezone] certainly make this a useful timepiece for me. Also, a modern, 42mm case w/ 22mm solid bracelet was a niche that needed to be filled in my modest collection.
Add to that all the hubbub and spectacular reaction from the watch collecting community upon Tudor's newest release w/ historic significance. I can still remember waking the morning of 2010 Basel, logging on to TRF, and shocked to read threads like "Wait Till Dan Pierce Sees This"!!!

He actually found it. I've been extremely happy with it, and very glad that I had his help.

A badly described and non-photo bargain from an Ebay newbie.

Couldn't resist it. Same with my only other 2011 addition.

It was a diamond in the rough. A all gold 1503 with the original matching bracelet. It was really dirty. You could tell it was worn on the wrist all the time by a gentleman who did not abuse it. The seller was too lazy to clean it and it showed poorly. Ultrasonic cleanings, gentle scrubbing, and a gentle hand polish of the bracelet along with tips picked up here and various places on the net, and it's very pretty again :)

My last purchase, a 1971 Pierre-Cardin- Jaeger Le Coultre craterdome that was in storage for 4 decades and came with it's original box, leather strap and NOS, extremely rare to find another in a similar condition and very unique. I love modern art and this was art I could wear but surely not a watch to everyone's taste. I was more than happy to let it finally see the light of day:). These were designed by Pierre Cardin made by Jaeger Le Coultre (sports a mechanical FE-68 movement) inspired by the space age then and sold exclusively in his Espace showroom in Paris from 71-73 before they disappeared with the end of the space program to the moon.
I think was more it's rich historical significance in the world of haute couture and pristine untouched condition that got me wanting. Wasn't that expensive either compared to vintage Rolexes since it's not on everyones desirability list and has surely never been polished:) having been in storage rather than on a wrist.

oh. i liked the purty dial. all gilt, chapter ring, classic tudor rose, "self-winding" looked like a smiley face, exclamation point, pcg., caseback engraving...

A trade of a newer 16610 that bored me for a 1675 from 1965 that I am still loving, vetting and having a great time at it. Not sure the trade counts but I'm thrilled that my 6 month prior purchase traded to my enjoyment.

Great looking picture, and one real nice looking GMT Michael. It sure appears from here that you traded up in my opinion.
