Lazy red sub (1680) question

I know this is a bit of a lazy question (because I know how to do the research), but, being lazy at the moment... have the red sub (1680) prices gone WAY up in just the last 3-4 years?

I think they may have Tom.

Mine is a ok example and I paid $22500 for it in 2014 , I was offered $40k for it three months back and seriously considered selling .

im wearing it today and I love it ,to everyone it just looks like a watch even if they know its a Rolex they still don't know how special it is and mine will be 50yrs old next spring at least by the date stamped in the case back .

It seems like all vintage have been rising sharply in price. I thought I paid a lot for my two red subs last year, but, with current prices, it seems that I got a bargain.

If that's the MKI from Andrew Shear that I seriously considered buying when it popped up on his site, then 40K right now is too low IMO. Full sets like this just don't come up.

That’s a beauty. Beau did a great job on that case. You’re a lucky guy to have picked that up when you did!

Hi Brad ,

I don’t know to be perfectly honest with you , I only know is it’s the one it came from Andrew with , I actually wear it every third week in rotation with my other two reds , I actually love the watch.

If it’s making money or has appreciated even better

Ic. Just wondering if the mk1 red sub came with a mk2 long 5 insert or mk3 insert.
