NEED ADVICE, about to buy 1964/65 1601 Underline dial
Hello ive been trying to do some research on a watch I saw and intrigued me and seems to be rare and never seen one ever or looking online lately...
This gentleman is a watchmaker and he had what I saw was a 1964/65 from the serial number and a 1601 two tone datejust... What caught my attention was the underline in the bottom on the dial and of course the dial is a pie pan style and Alpha hands... So supposingly what i was told the underline is very rare and shows it was transitioned from radium to tritium but it's a myth... The hands were alpha and tritium/radium on them as well as on all the sticks on the dial but obviously all dark and don't glow.... The movement is a 1560 non hacking movement, original acrylic glass and never polished case... His asking 2k just the head, I'm tempted to buy what you guys think? Oh and he said he serviced the movement and giving me a 1 year warranty... |

I only saw like three sell from hqmilton, mbwatches and forgot the other company and when they did in the past they wrote how rare these are and all, I don't know if it's a marketing scheme but they were asking 4k cause it was a pie pan, alpha hands and underline dial... I just want to make sure I'm not overpaying...

Depends what you mean good. Thought you wanted to know if it was correct for the watch. Nothing wrong with the 1560 movement. It’s a bitch to set the date as it is non-quickset but other than that I don’t see any down-side. I am sure more technical people can chime in on the technical aspect if that is important to you.
