PN 6239 love

First time I had a chance to see and try on a 6239 at a local dealer.

What a cool watch in person, but absolutely out of my range.

It’s actually a pretty ugly dial IMHO. Paul Newmam has a lot to answer for

Cool watch but the prices are crazy in my opinion. The owners who have paid large amounts better hope the bubble does not burst anytime soon.

Not worried. Only an issue for buyers who bought purely as investments and are looking to resell. Plenty of guys bought and are buying vintage Daytonas simply because they love them and will wear them.

Did you plan the visit by wearing the matching shirt?

Asking was $315K USD. Not sure on the sale price tho, although didn't take long to sell.

A good condition 6239 PN white dial same watch as the one in photo of this thread was sold at Christies Auction few months ago for nearly 350K usd.

PN's are super cool watches and I can see why people are paying high prices for them. Just have to be sure that the condition is good because that is everything IMO, and then it would be safe to buy.

I noticed that this seller has a lot of vintage pieces with "original factory finishing present" on the case...

remarkable that this case actually looks better today than it looked brand new in 1970.

They're the perfect size watches for me. Modern Daytona's are too bulky.

Those crown guards look like they are from a 6-digit

The case is correct it’s just been completely refinished...which seems to be a theme with this seller. I’ve seen quite a few listings described as original finish that are 100% refinished. Either the seller can’t tell the difference or something else is going on. But if he can’t tell the difference he shouldn’t be in the business of selling vintage time pieces imo.

That’s great! I find the current Daytona small as well. Different strokes as they say
