I use the Apple Watch for such activities. Working on car, in shop etc.

My trusty G-Shock if activities are really rough (climbing/scrambling, construction).
I also looked at the Casio Oceanus titanium posted above - it’s a sharp piece and I’m still contemplating.
I’d also consider an Omega Seamaster quartz but I already have a GMT so would be a dupe look in my stable

For me it's my 116600 for most things that are challenging to the wrist (working around the house, sailing, swimming in the ocean). If I want something incognito then it's the 16570; ultimately I wear the Platona for most things and really don't worry about it too much.

I charge mine up then take it off the charger and switch it off. Always still shows 100% when I switch it back on.

I did the same thing this year and bought a quartz Aqua Terra. However a quartz sea master would also be fitting (I was close to getting this instead).

For real class, functionality and maximum WIS points I would go for the Citizen Chronomaster.

This is the watch Prince William wears. It was given to him by his mother Princes Diana. Not being a fan of jewelry (like many male royalty, he wears no wedding band), this is the only piece he wears as it brings him close to his mother.

I think his is the midsize (36mm) but yes I've seen that brought up here occasionally.

You can also get an Omega Aqua Terra Quartz. Case size 38mm, +/- 1" per six weeks accuracy, screw-down crown, very reasonable price for the $$$ you pay, 5-yr warranty from the manufacturer, etc.

My oysterquartz wasn't very robust in comparison to a 116710 and some tag's. As a result I like the aquaracer quartz (waj2110), and for really cheap and interesting Todd Snyder has been putting out good pieces with timex.

I've been wearing the waj on a bracelet recently when chopping wood, and it's not only been comfortable, but hasn't had any issues. It wears smaller than it looks.

I would also second a grandseiko, but wouldn't wear that one chopping wood or during other activities, so its not really go anywhere because it's so dressy.

A grand Seiko quartz was another one I had thought of as well.

That sounds like a good deal to me. A GS Quartz would be a great fit and forget.

Recommendation for a grab and go quartz watch

Thanks for all the replies. So far I would classify the suggestions as below:

1. Go digital camp: Apple Watch, g shock
2. Inexpensive but tough: citizen, Timex
3. Slightly expensive but tough: Cwc, Hamilton khaki, victorinox inox
4. Expensive: Breitling aerospace, omega, tag
5. Dressy and expensive: Grand Seiko
6. Out of Budget kind of expensive: Rolex quartz, Patek quartz

Personally I am more inclined towards 2 and 3 since the whole point is to get a fuss free watch that goes with casual, go-to-market kind of look.

I would update with photo when I finally get it.. hopefully this week!

I have a few quartz watches, I do prefer solar, with no need to worry about battery changes. So I'd say the aformentioned Casio Oceanus S100, G-Shock GW-5000, or Seiko Astron.

I might add at Merci LMM-01 to the list, I'm really thinking of picking one up just for the heck of it. I really like the simple field watch design, and with a sweep seconds hand you might forget it's quartz. https://www.merci-merci.com/en/lmm-0...atch-noir.html

Dear all...

Drum roll......

And the final watch I got is:

Thanks for all the inputs.. sorry that the final outcome is not one of the suggestions. This watch called out to me the moment I tried it on.. along with other citizen Casio models.

The rubber is incredibly soft.. very comfortable

Solar powered, tough movement, sapphire crystal, automatically syncs to the atomic clock, coated titanium. So lightweight you will hardly know you’re wearing it. It may make you question your loyalty to luxury mechanical watches.

100%. Having owned one, and been blown away by it, you cannot go wrong (if you're ok only wearing it on the bracelet, don't mind the size, and are ok with the blue accents).
