Which cheaper brands do you respect?

I am looking for a cheaper everyday watch to compliment my Rolex, so far I have looked at Oris and Tudor but I am having trouble finding inspiration on what other brands to look at.

Oris and Tudor are fantastic options. Some other great value brands:

Seiko
Hamilton
Sinn
Nomos

seiko and nomos for me. depending on where you draw the line for “cheaper”, tudor and omega go on the list as well.

In addition to the above:
Longines
Concord
Ebel
and a whole host of others, depending on budget and if pre-owned is not ruled out.

For clarity, what exactly do you mean when you say “complimentary”?

I think Rado is underrated. Their designs are unique and they have been pioneering in using ceramic and other “high tech” materials for their cases and bracelets.

Depends what is considered cheaper. I would say Nomos, Seiko, Hamilton, Zenith and JLC. Although these are different price points.

I have been discovering...
Steinhart
Christopher Ward
Nomos

I like...
Longines

Bottom tier...
You could look at the ‘Les Originales’ line from Rotary!

Something off the path...
Citizen’s high end (non-mechanical) dancing and singing tech watches

I have all of these. If you like dive watches, you can get a box full of Seikos for much less than one Rolex.

They sure do, but I would not consider them cheaper than Rolex. I have JLCs that are more expensive than some of my Rolexes.

Rolex sells a platinum Daytona and a ladies Oyster. Their prices go from 5K to about 75K.

Not sure how to answer your question as there are a lot of watch priced below 75K

Others in the thread appeared to understand perfectly well and gave some good suggestions, brands that sell most of their watches at retail a fair bit cheaper than the entry level Rolex models.

I’m a fan of Tudor. Currently have a Tudor Chrono 79260 below and the fifty-eight.

The fifty eight refuses to be removed from my wrist so I’ll probably let the 79260 go soon. It stratched the Chrono itch a few years back.

Agree with the ones already mentioned before. They are good mechanical watches.

My favorite ones are Hamilton and Seiko. I don’t have any of those but want some of their watches (Elvis Ventura and Turtle respectively).

I have a few Casio G Shock for the golf course. From the distance you may think my White Casio is a Richard Mille (thank you Bubba Watson)

If not Tudor, for me go to Germany. Nomos and Sinn. Brilliant watches, and the service when you deal direct with either brand is fabulous.
