Sounds like a posh place. Teachers can't afford to go to places like that

Have a great time guys and make sure you give the rest of us the lowdown!

Count me in! Would be glad to meet fellow aussie TRF members.

Would that be a afternoon event or evening?

Thanks for the invite, Steve

Thanks for organising it, Gedanken. Just out of curiosity and looking at your avatar. Are you a SAF commando?

Their wagyu bresaola's killer, and so's their cassoulet. They've also got a magnificent roasted lamb shoulder that's big enough for four people.

Anyway, Cumulus only takes bookings for eight or more people, so let's get the numbers up!

Steve
Peter and Deanne
Dave (is your boss coming along?)
Michael and Gill
Kai
Ultraman (what's your real name, by the way?)
Myself (I'll have to see if Sash has a girls' thing on)

and Gerry's yet to be confirmed.

Looks like I might be pushing the friendship with the other half :-( I'm stuck in Sydney I'm afraid.

On another note, I will be doing some work for a new acquaintance in Melb for his clientele here in Syd and Newcastle, we're catching up here in July, and I'll be heading your way hopefully soon after, So I'll buy you guys a drink or two then, please accept my apologies.

I will add, James, Steve, if your ever this way those drinks still apply :-)

That's a shame, Dave - ah well, it'll be yet another excuse for a GTG when you do pop round!

I'll leave it to Steve to say you've been whupped!

:-) I'm sure he'll sort me out

One consolation, I won't be sleeping on the lounge/floor for a while well until next time I play up

My lounge room couch is actually more comfortable than the bed - you gotta have all the bases covered, mate!

Uhh, guys. we've hit a bit of a snag. I called to make reservations at Cumulus, and while they can take the reservation, I didn't realise that it's a fixed menu for reservations (tapas is only for walk-in customers) at $70 a head, and they want a deposit of $20 per person upfront.

Now if everybody's cool with this I can make the reservation, but I'll need everyone to commit since there's cash involved.

Alternatively, there's a place called Steakhouse at Docklands. The steaks are good (Kai's been there too) and the prices are decent: http://www.steakhouse.net.au/newquay/newquay.htm

Whaddaya say, guys?

Thats fantastic David. I am moving to Wolloongong around 20th of July to do a 6 month rotation at a local hospital. I can easily drive to Sydney for a GTG.
Just let me know where n when

I'll go with whatever is easier. $70 menu sounds like a bit much but I don't know

Yeah, I was a bit taken aback by Cumulus' inflexibility. Personally I'm happy to go for a nice ribeye at Steakhouse and unless there's any violent objections let's shift the game plan that way. I'll wait 24 hours before calling either place and making reservations.
