1680 case question

I bought this on ebay from a seller who's a long time member here.
Didn't think there were any issues with authenticity but now am not sure after looking at more cases.
I'm hoping any experts here can help with an opinion.

A couple people have pointed out the registered design font is questionable. It is so scratched up its hard to tell.
I thought the crown guards looked correct. What else to check?

Agree, it looks odd. The engraving is also very high, close to the edge, which is unusual.

However, just because it looks different doesn't necessarily mean it's fake. It was the 1970s and not everything was done perfectly. Inconsistencies in engravings were quite common in the 1960s-70s. Still, if it were me and the seller was willing to take it back, I would do it. I wouldn't want any lingering doubts, and it's quite pitted between the lugs anyway.

Here's a typical engraving (below) for a 5 million 1680 Sub to compare.

To me the engraving looks very high because a thin layer of metal above it has been removed.

.
To those that have not noticed, this case was purchased on December 4th.
Fast forward two months, now he should sell it because the engraving is high, as pictured originally on the listing...

His original concern was that it was fake.
.
Well, if he is willing to take the return, you can rest assured it is worth more than what the OP paid...

Not sure how much it is worth multiple people pm to buy it. lol. Opinions on this are about 50 50.

I don't have a concern about the high engraving
It might have been reengraved though.
Thanks for your input.

A pic of the "high" engraving
The other side of the case between the lugs is the same height so doubt metal loss explains the placement.
