Just don’t have it send off to Rolex for service.

There are a number of guys here who can help with that if you need it.

I would only service it if I was going to keep it. Otherwise, sell as is and let the owner sort that out

Looks legit, but hard to verify without having it in hand.

A decent watchmaker will get that bracelet back on for you. Get it on a NATO in the meantime.

Here's what I'd do:

1. Take it to Rolex and get a written service quote to verify that it's genuine (assuming they'll give a quote for a watch that old...)

2. Decline the service and get the watch back.

3. Get it serviced by a vintage-sympathetic independent if you're going to keep it, or sell it as-is if you're taking that route.

Good luck with it!

Here's mine, BTW. SN 843xxx, which is the same as yours, right? Puts it at around 1976.
