Terrible 16520 fake bought on eBay for $9.5k!

This is a shame. A terrible fake on eBay got 103 bids and sold for $9.5k SMH http://m.ebay.com/itm/201986972325?_...57&_mwBanner=1

How did you determine that it was fake?

Come on guys, that looks nothing like a 16520. The subdial spacing is a dead giveaway, the subdials are silver instead of beige and way too small. The watch is listed as a 2002, the 16520 was made until 2000. Also, the 16520 had a different clasp and the case is wayyy too thick.

Replacing parts like dials and clasps does not mean its fake.

Look at the pictures, it's 100% fake. I guarantee it. The movement could not have the subdials spaced as such

I'm not sure why people would think that's real.

x2 even the pictures are fuzzy which is often a giveaway, no picture of movement.

I happened to keep this eBay auction listing in my "Watch" folder and went back to check the sellers feedback ratings. Interesting the sellers feedback transaction page were all positive however all sales were for gold Russian roubles. Don't know if this means anything, I'm just saying interesting.

I agree with the spacing... Also, the seller doesn't show the coronet on the clasp which is suspicious as that is an area of difficulty for most fakers to get that exact and on point.

The case to me also looks bad and finishing is off... not a good fake at all in my opinion and per the previous comments has a lot of jump out issues. pity as this should have been flagged before the auction completed..

This is one of the most obvious and worst fakes I’ve seen.

Oh I've seen worse, but this one could still be easily spotted from a mile away.

Just gave it some love, so hopefully we can get it invalidated.
