Delta question to the watchmakers

A question to the watchmakers on the forum; what is the typical delta of the rate on the 3125 and the 3235 movements?

In my experience around deltas of 8-10 are typical, even for watches under warranty.

Rolex watches are mass produced. Where there is a tolerance (as is the case for the delta), once it is ‘in tolerance’ there is no incentive or time allocated to making it substantially better. Meaning most watches are somewhere between the middle and the top of the tolerance.

Would you say that Rolex invests in getting higher amplitude to overcome the beat rate variability during assembly vs having to spend much bench time fiddling with beat?

Interesting...

Thanks for reply. I put my 2 month old SD43 on a timegrapher. The biggest difference is between face up of +0.5 spd and crown down of -3.5 spd. It is consistently -0.5 spd on the wrist.

A one month old Explorer 2 is face up of +1.5 spd and crown down of -7.5 spd. It is consistently -2.0 spd on the wrist.

Have you noticed that the 3235 has a tighter delta in general?

Something else interesting; I have an Omega PO with the 8500 movement. It was a consistent +1.5 spd for seven years on the wrist. I just got it back from its full service. The delta is 2.2 spd and is dead on on the wrist. Amazing movement and a fantastic service.
