14060M Submariner Authenticity

Hello,

I want to buy a 14060M Submariner in Hong Kong.
Can anyone please help me authenticate this watch in the photos attached?

My main concern is that it does not come with a card. However it comes with a Rolex Service Center invoice from last month to change X2 spring bars. Will that mean that the RSC would have checked the whole watch?
In the invoice it also shows no information for the Dial, which I thought was odd. The invoice is also in the attachments.

I should also mention I would be buying this watch from a physical store in Hong Kong which should add some confidence of authenticity.

I would appreciate any advice here, thanks a lot.

Watch should be ok and physical stores here are unlikely to knowingly sell fakes, though they can be a bit creative with what they suppy with the watch. This Sub, for example, wouldn't have come with that red chronometer tag originally. Box could be wrong, too, depending in the age/serial of the watch.

Thanks for the response. Yeah being that it is from a physical shop which also has that "No Fakes" certification in Hong Kong adds to my confidence.

I agree with your point about the accessories. This is a P serial from around 2003 they said.

Regarding the RSC invoice should I have any concerns that it shows no information for the Dial? And would the Spring Bar change mean they open up the watch meaning it would be authentic if they carried out the work?

Thanks a lot

Don't see any red flags. Flat 4 and dial are period correct for a P (which is more likely a 2001ish build). Always buy the seller.

The springbar change would be a walk-in job, and they probably just gave it the once-over, and doubt they opened it. They might have run the serial number. I'm not surprised about there being no dial info on the invoice. Dial is right for P serial, box is several years too late. I'd try to get an extra discount by telling them to keep the box and tag. They might knock off $500, you never know.

Looks in good condition, no red flags.

Also; this dateless 5 digit Submariner is not a watch that you will find replicas of.

This invoice is a ploy to get "Rolex" paper associated and is pretty meaningless
but part of putting together a package for sale, same as the incorrect tags and box..

As to authentication, there is absolutely no way that buying springbars at some point in time correlates to the watches authenticity or condition today, just accept it for what it is but nothing more.

The watch looks fine from the picture, get it if you like it and the price is right, but this is not a box-and-papers purchase as it would be defined by a collector.

if that paper is legit, i would think there is no way RSC is going to replace spring bars on a watch without making sure the watch checks out. it should give some marginal piece of mind.

you could always take it back to RSC for service evaluation. do they do walk ins in HK?
