Rolex-ing my iPhone screen in iOS 14

Had a little too much time on my hands today so I decided to dress up my home screen on my iPhone.

Why does it say widgetsmith? That would drive me crazy. Cant you just customize the background by combining images and then shift the app icons to reveal the wallpaper underneath ?

Widgetsmith is the app used to customize the widgets which are part of the new iOS 14. You need this to customize the widgets.

I personally don’t like it either and probably won’t keep this set up.

I just had some time to kill and thought I’d give it a try.

If you see the watch brand everytime you look at your phone, aren't you slowly brainwashing yourself to buy more?

Not that the people in this forum needs any further brainwashing though...

I can just put a picture anywhere I want on my screen or just move around stuff and show the wallpaper how I want . Seems like another reason android allows freedom to use your device how you want.

Mine is laggy when I go into a text message and start typing, then it’s fine (11 Pro).

No, it isn’t yet.

Within 8 days they had to rush out a fix as 14.0.1 - so bad that Apple s/w folks didn’t catch even basic problems during beta...

From the developers as of 9/24:

- Fixes an issue that could cause default browser and mail settings to reset after restarting your *iPhone*
- Fixes an issue that could prevent your *iPhone* from connecting to Wi-Fi networks
- Resolves an issue that could prevent sending email with some mail providers
- Addresses an issue that could prevent images from appearing in the News widget

Same with me here as well ( granted, I’m on an old 7+ ). I’ve talked to Apple support about this and tried everything they said ( restating my phone, clearing some memory, I only have one keyboard running, tried a complete restore, etc etc. I get the same keyboard lag no Matter what I do ).

Hopefully they will have a fix for this in an upcoming iOS update, since this seems to be a very common issue on the Apple forums.

Besides the lagging keyboard issue, my phone has been fantastic. Going on almost 4 years owning it and couldn’t be happier with it. Apple does a really good job with their smart phones.

I am not going to mess with it.

Likewise my phone has been fantastic otherwise.
