I’ve been interested in cosmology since I was a kid. If it was easy to make money in science I’d have become a physicist.

The factoid that blew my mind as a kid is that we are all made of exploding star-dust. As a cynical adult with a little bit more knowledge, the fact that most of the heavy elements in the Universe formed in supernovae means that this bit of trivia can be reframed as “we are all made of nuclear waste”.

I read this last week. Can not guarantee it’s accuracy but it’s certainly plausible....

From a time perspective, the Tyrannosaurus Rex was closer to seeing a smartphone than he was a Stegosaurus.

The highest point in any rapid transit system in the world is the Smith and Ninth Street station in Brooklyn, NY, at 87.5 feet above ground level.

One of my favorites:

You are standing on the side of a large rock, that is spinning at 1000 MPH, while orbiting the sun at 67,000 MPH, and our solar systems whirls around the center of our galaxy at 490,000 MPH.

Think about this while you are contemplating how wrong it is that you can't buy your 10th Rolex.

Baseball Hall of Famer Stan Musial played 22 years, all with the St. Louis Cardinals. He had exactly 1,815 hits at home, and exactly 1,815 hits on the road. You can look it up.

Easy on the wine as the aroma of wine can arouse both men and women. The scents of many wines are believed to replicate human pheromones, the chemical substances that cause behavioral responses in humans.

Abraham Lincoln wasn’t actually buried permanently until the 1920’s. Before then a society of men guarded his body, moving it around to thwart would be confederate thieves. Before his final burial under concrete in IL, his casket was opened and due to his extensive embalming, he looked just as he did the day of his funeral.

In many states, only three jobs are legally considered “professions” as they are ultimately responsible for the health, safety, and wellbeing of the public. These are a physician, attorney, and architect.

73 years ago, in 1947, the sound barrier was broken by Chuck Yeager.

General Yeager is still alive.

If a lady says, "Je suis pleine."

Canadian French translation: I am full (like after a big meal).
European French translation: I am pregnant.
