How do your PCL look now?

Curious to know how long you've had your watch, how hard you treat it, and see how your PCL have held up and look now?

BLNR owned since 2014 wear in rotation, but when I'm wearing it I wear it through everything... When I was still in the military, hiking, camping, in the water, etc. Got some scratches, but have seen worse.

Another BLNR owner here (2 yrs). Wear it often, but mainly only "out" at night, etc. I wear other watches when hiking, working out etc. Has only minor scratches - mostly from the desk, laptop, random knocks... but I agree with others here who have said that PCLs are scratch magnets. you just accept it.

5 years of ownership, bought new, wear it every day even at work, hike mountains for work, make arrests sometimes violent ones, only take it off for showers, working on car and to sleep. The chunks missing in the bracelet in the 1st pic were from one of those "violent arrests", the 2nd and 3rd link down from the clasp. Slight swirl marks in the PCLs but the main issue has been the brushed parts look more mellowed out. From far still looks great. I think the pics are kind to the appearance, the scratches on the pcls are more apparent in person. I still don't regret wearing it all day.

Purchased brand new one month ago. This is what it looks like after wearing mostly every day and being super careful. I'm pretty sure my microfiber cloth has contributed to some of the swirls.

These things are scratch magnets.

I have PCL on my DJII and keep it as my dress watch but wear it often. I have decades of pcl ownership on a Bluesy. I know all the tricks to avoid scratching but it still will happen. Even with being careful, they will pick up some scratches. You must be at peace with living with scratches when owning a Rolex with pcl. It’s just the way it is. On the flip side my LVC with brushed links still looks new and I wear it all the time. They are two opposite of how visible daily scratches show.
If Rolex went back to using a all brushed clasp on their pcl watches, it would be significantly easier to live with.

Personally, I don't mind the PCLs...but it's only been 4 days so far. All of my brushed bracelets have held up well as expected. I won't worry, and the RSC can polish any scratches out in 5 years.

We had a thread on this last year. Tips like putting your watch arm behind your back when walking down narrow hallways and stair cases. Not putting your watch down on any hard surfaces, etc..

Wrapping the bracelet in cellophane is another good one.

Or not wearing it all is the best way. Pcl and polished bezels on the daytonas are horrible for scratches..

The PCls look great when new and from a distance. I’m super careful with the watches and they somehow always manage to get some type of scratch. Eveytime I get a new watch, I’m super obsessive compulsive not to knick it for a couple months, then the scratches somehow get on them and I just accept it from there.


Also, I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but almost every single Rolex with pcl when held at a certain angle in the sun (even new) have this super light hazing on the pcls. Has anyone noticed this?

I’ve had my GMT since 2014. I don’t worry about scratches, but I’m also careful without being obnoxious about it.

The PCL’s hold up quite well and you don’t really notice the scratches unless you’re looking for them. The clasp gets the brunt of it as you can see.

All scratches are mine which I enjoy!

Fantastic looking watch. The naysayers keep bashing the platinum bezel because if "scratches easily" yet yours seems to have held up great, given the heavy usage.

I have a 1995 2tone Sub I wore daily for several years back in school. I just unearthed it lately and aside from being astonished that it still keeps good time and power reserve, the scratches in the gold center links and the overall watch brought a sense of nostalgia of how I lived back then. In that sense, I’d say wearing it well today really creates the memories for the years to come.

I find them completely incongruous on a GMT, especially the mirror finish Rolex seems to embrace. I did nothing more than wear them under a shirt cuff and maybe the occasional contact of the clasp with a desk surface and they were all scratched up after a few dozen wearings. I have no problem wearing a nice watch daily and letting whatever happens happen but a matte or brushed finish is by far my preferance.

I have a Sinn 203 that is a full polish dive watch. For whatever reason it just doesn't take on scratches in the same way. And when it does I can lightly brush them away with a Cape cod cloth. No trying to tape off 2/3 of the bracelet. I don't try to make it like new, just a little clean up every 6 months or so, then a quick soapy wash.

I'd be fine with PCLs if I thought they looked right on a GMT, but in my opinion they don't belong on a watch like that.

I have 2 with PCLs (Milgauss & DJ41) and wear and rotate them regularly, so far so good with only hairlines here and there nothing that I obsess over. I was always paranoid about them until I've owned them and now really enjoy the beauty and contrast they give to the bracelet. No worries here..
