Next Rolex

Hi All / curious to hear which you’d choose for the next watch:

1. SMURF - sorry to those who are offended by the name - I don’t know the number.

Or

2. SS Daytona - white dial - ceramic bezel.

I currently have a SS Sub date and love it. I’ve never seen the SMURF in person but have seen the Daytona. Grey market prices make these two closer than I would have anticipated in terms of cost (Pre-Owned SMURF).

Smurf, sell your SS Sub, use the funds to get a GMT.

My preference would be the smurf.
The Daytona dial is too busy. (Although if I had to have a Daytona I would go the white dial)

The sub dial is cleaner and more appealing to look at in my opinion.
I think a sub makes a better every day wearer too.

Smurf all day long. Daytona case is too small.

two great models - Love the white gold, love the daytona but always had a tough time reading it. If your eyes aren't failing yet I vote Daytona because you have a Sub.

I'd flip the ss sub and put it towards the cost of the smurf and then get a daytona down the road when they're more available.

Got my first Rolex -- Just Date 41 Black SS. One question. It seems to measure 40mm instead of 41mm. It seems to gain 1s every 2 days so it meets the superlative chronometer standard.

By smurf to you mean the wg sub? If so that would easily be my choice.

Secondary market prices are amusing, a PM Daytona and SS C Daytona being similar, I'd go with the PM.
Assuming prices remain stable the PM has so much greater value. Between as Daytona and smurf PM every time. Then with two subs you could change the SS and go for something different.

I would go WG every time...but I like the heft, feel, and look of PM. Plus, a sub bezel is more useful and intuitive to me. So there's my vote.

I'm not the biggest Daytona fan to begin with, so I'm going 116619.

daytona only because you already have a sub. Otherwise, flip the SS sub, and add both.

Only applies to AD purchases though, no way i buy a daytona at secondary prices. So i would sit tight for now on the daytona and switch out subs.

I’m firmly in the diver camp

Every collection should have a SS Submariner so I wouldn’t get rid of it. Having the WG is just icing on the cake
