16710 GMT on a 63600 Super Jubilee Bracelet

I wanted a change from the original Oyster bracelet because I already have Oyster bracelets on other Rolex models. I'm very happy with the result here. I was concerned that it might look too dressy or blingy, but it actually looks great in person.

The major challenge here was finding the right springbars. You can't just re-use the springbars from the Oyster bracelet because they're slightly too thick to fit through the Super Jubilee bracelet (2.0mm diameter vs. 1.8mm diameter). So I needed shoulderless springbars (because my 16710 case has lug holes), and I wanted springbars with fat ends to completely fill the lug holes so that there's no play in the endlinks. After several failed efforts, I finally found ONE seller in the US who had the right springbars that fit perfectly. They are 20mm long, 1.78mm thick diameter, with 1.2mm diameter (fat) end tips that extend 2.8mm outwards from the center tube (and are shoulderless!).

You modernized a classic, not a fan.

Yeah, I was on the fence between the 65210H and 63600. I like them both. But I already have a GMT on an old(er) Jubilee with a clasp, below, so I ended up going with the 63600. Otherwise, if I didn't have this, I would've gone with the 65210H.

For me, the 16710 isn't in the "untouchable icon" category. It's relatively modern and very common, so putting it on something other than an Oyster bracelet isn't sacrilegious in my book. And to the casual observer, the Super Jubilee bracelet and 16710 case don't look like they're from different eras. They mate pretty nicely. It'd only look odd to a purist who knows that they're from different eras (which I definitely am with many watches, but not this one!). The original Oyster bracelet is still safe and sound, of course -- can always swap it back and maybe will one day in the distant future.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm looking to put a SJ on my newly acquired GMT Master II Coke with lug holes. Can you tell me where you sources those perfect spring bars? Thanks!

I put my 16700 on a SJ as well. I think you can use any 1.8mm spring bar. I believe I got my spring bars from esslinger.com

Would have to agree - nothing wrong with some tweaking. I have a 16700 that came via an AD with a 78360 bracelet retro fitted with a Submariner flip lock clasp. All works a treat!

Love the fat serif font on your Pepsi bezel insert!

I tried a Super Jubilee from a 116234 DJ I had some time ago. It fit well on the lug holed 16710, but I didn’t like the lack of adjustability (I even got the 1.2 link). It is certainly a much more solid jubilee than the older versions.

I recently got a 62150H for my 16710T, and really enjoy it. Granted, I had to tighten the end links a bit to reduce the rattle, I enjoy the lightness and flexibility of the old style bracelet.

Looks great! How does one find a super jubilee and what do they typically cost?
