I am not a forex trader. But we can safely bet it is based on the exchange rates. CHF is very strong... the truce during covid of spread between weak and strong countries has been over for some time now.

https://www.google.com/finance/quote...HF?&window=YTD

So Rolex is returning to its habit to adapt the prices on a world wide level.

dollar is strong too, so does that mean no price increase in the USA?

Strong it is: https://www.google.com/finance/quote/USD-CHF?window=YTD

Comparison with EUR: https://www.google.com/finance/quote/USD-EUR?window=YTD

As always, companies are in a rush to keep the margin, but stacking infinite meetings to speaking about the markets were the margin increases.
I remember that they were adapting prices down or up when people started to buy in one country to sell in an other to game the taxes like VAT (6% in CHF and +25% in some countries at that time). With current travel level and allocation, this is not an immediate issue. So let's schedule some meetings next year about the USD market. :)

Yes, they have, but it's not too common.

Your logic has flaws. What makes you think an increase won't shore up the grey prices. Which if the price increase is true, is exactly why Rolex are pushing the price up.

But you know, Rolex aren't interested in the grey market lol

Rolex increases will be 5% on steel, 7% on TT and 10% on precious metals.

Wowza.

Lol. Totally irrelevant as one can’t get from the AD anyway. More gray hype to justify their bloated prices to create demand. Games up. There is a sucker born every minute and it’s not this guy.

Sadly, you're correct. Grey price hike would hit the next day.

I must be listening to a different Paul Thorp. The guy I listen to is passionate about watch collecting. He has highlighted the ongoing theft problems in his area to educate people to avoid being victims and has reached out to Rolex to assist in re-instating the stolen watch registry. Virtually everything he says about future Rolex corporate direction is coupled with a warning that no one really knows absolutely but his sources are ADs who pick up feels from their reps. Take it as it is offered, nothing more.

Well yeah. Which is one reason for the price increases.

I'm willing to bet most new model Rolex stock resides in the grey market so its only logical they don't want the stocks trashed.

Surprising how tuned in people are to Paul Thorpe, considering how much they disdain him.
