Only one Submariner for life, 126610 Date or 126613LB Bluesy ?

If you can buy only 1 and hold for a life time, will it be the classic 126610 or the more attractive 126613LB Bluesy ?and why ?

Tried this before. It’s SS. TT gets old, especially the blue bezel will start to annoy you, too much of a good thing etc.. SS never gets old.

126613LB for me. I find the black a bit on the mundane side of things. The blue is just so nice for the eyes.

Not a fan of any of the ceramic bezel watches but if i had to choose the 126610 but much prefer the 16610.

126610LN. The be-all, end-all of practicality & versatility. Being obsessed with this model makes me slightly biased, though.

TT tends to drift in and out of fashion to a certain extent over the years, so for longevity I'd always go with SS. Plus a classic black LN is incredibly versatile in a way that TT can never hope to be IMO.

Black sub date - I had the bluesy multiple times. The dial only looked good to me half the time. The neon blue in the sunlight didn’t sit with me.

SS over TT for a lifetime watch. I prefer the looks and simplicity of SS.

Plain black is more versatile for everyday use.

Bluesy is a stunning watch but will be a lot more noticeable on your wrist - not always what you want depending on where you find yourself anytime.

126613lb love the blue with two tone high on my list. I’m figuring for my 40th bday that’s my trigger watch. Cheers

Well someone show me that 126610

Hi. Nobody has a 126610 ?

Blue IS the trend at the moment, and associated towards royal, than other colors. Most people who own 3 to 5 dials, one of them is either going to be a black or white or silver dial.

There are so many variations of blue the 2008 series of TT sub is more navy, than 2007, which was the electric blue.

I intend to own at least 2 blue dials. I am not ready to get one yet, there are higher priorities at the moment, but blue is my favorite color.

It looks like the 126610 is a 'safer' dial. I g00gled it, and saw black dials with dates. Is that model a black dial ? There are clearly far more options for a black dial than blue. Black does so more with anything, a bit too common unless you do not care. you must love blue to have a TT without growing fatigued some now. For the collectability, the value, you can't really go wrong with either. The older TT models I would be more affordable. Keep in mind the newer the year is, the more robust, scratch resistant the materials are to make the subs. Definatitely a worthwhile thing to consider.

Many collectors concur that the dial is the most important factor. If it really grabs you, to intoxicating levels, and makes you think about it days, weeks, months after, a good chance you will not regret getting it eventually. It is unfortunate people need to get rid of a time piece without at least trying different straps. It is like a fresh start. A new feel.

The cost a factor ? check for the cost for servicing.

Make more money. Life is too short to have just one Rolex. You’re also missing Patek AP , etc. There’sa lot more life to live than just modern submariners.

Only one Submariner for life, 126610 Date or 126613LB Bluesy ?

OP, you said you find Bluesy more attractive and answered the question yourself.

Me? Bluesy is the opposite of what I find attractive and totally not my style.

I'd take the bluesy. It is so much more versatile and dresses up and down with ease.
