Those "lists" are BS anyways. My friend was in the market for the Daytona. He went to an AD in Chicago and they gave us that song and dance about it being rare and years to get and that nobody will get one blah blah blah. As the AD was listening to my friend's story about he's always wanted one and was able to buy it right now if they had one, they legit magically appeared with one. One of them was like "we have one held for someone but if you want it and can buy it now, it's yours". In my mind, I was just like "wtf kind of sham is this?!?" (didn't say it out loud since my friend actually wanted this watch). In the end, he now has a Daytona so he's happy but that whole fake list and bs they pulled really pissed me off. The same thing happened when I wanted the no-date, which I ended up buying a couple weeks ago from a grey market jeweler.

You would be wasting your time. As someone else already said, call a trusted seller and pay a premium if you are that desperate.

Highly unlikely. An out of state AD isn’t going to go through the trouble of shipping it to you if someone is going to buy it in person within the same day. Only way to get the Daytona faster is to buy other models and get further up the “list” (which doesn’t actually exist, anyways) by establishing a relationship with them. Chances are they have them sitting in the back in their coffins. They are keeping them as rewards for their repeat customers... Out of state buyer sounds like a flipper, so if that’s the first hurdle to pass in order to get them to sell it to you.. you already failed..

This.

Its not that they can't or won't sell to someone outside of their area, it's they won't likely do so unless you step foot in their building first. Almost certainly make a purchase on premise first also.

If you really want a real good slap in your face try calling any and every Patek dealer in the USA and say I would like a stainless steel nautilus 5711/5712 or aquanaut 5167 today and see what they say. Rolex dealers treat you like gold compared to Patek Ad's with these models. I am beyond happy with my local Ad who genuinely wants to help enthusiasts expand their collections in Rolex and Patek like me.

You’d be better off spending the time and a little extra cash on the mega millions lotto.

Not sure why any AD anywhere would sell a watch to a cold caller when they already have actual customers who also are after the watch.

For reference I was at my AD tuesday and i was talking to him about how much i love my BLRO they got for me. He was pleased and said "you know we are getting over 20 calls a day for that watch". I stayed and tried on a few pieces and sure enough i heard two calls about it while i was sitting there. Its similar for the daytona, but probably less at this point since it isnt as new. But just for some scale i thought i should mention that as lots and lots of people are doing that same thing.
Crazy times

If you really want it that bad, buy it on TRF and call it a day and save yourself the aggravation and disappointment.

After you “scratch your itch” and wear it for a while, you can still sell it for a premium, if you want, and your loss will be minimal.

100% guaranteed to work. By the time you're done, it'll probably be 4 years from now, when the MSRP has risen to match the grey market. Happy days =D

Nope - it is like handing a flipper 7-8k in profits.

They will reserve the sale where they get some reciprocal benefit. Either your continued loyalty or another purchase as a bundle sale.

If you asked every supermodel out on a date would you get one? Not impossible but probably more likely.

Uh - successful cold caller here (for D5). But I understand things have tightened up so makes my unlikely victory even more unicornish now.

Your hourly wage * time spent on that + $5000 for your dignity = pay the premium and buy it from a TS on TRF
