BLNR Bezel stuff after cleaning
Hi everyone,
First post here - been a watch fan for some time and last month got my first Rolex, the BLNR! The weather here in the uk has been unusually sweaty recently, and as I have been wearing the watch almost non stop, I gave it a wash with a soft baby’s toothbrush and some warm soapy water. So, this may be a stupid question, but after washing, the bezel feels a little stiff and scratchy. It’s my first high end watch, so I might be over thinking it, but is this normal? Keen to get the forums thoughts, thanks in advance! |

I think a baby's toothbrush should just about be ok....
CERACHROM The bezel is one of the parts of a watch most exposed to shocks, scratches, corrosion and other environmental factors. Rolex developed and patented the Cerachrom bezel for specific Professional models in the Oyster collection, which retain all of their beauty and functionality even in the most extreme conditions. A PARTICULARLY RESISTANT PATENTED COMPONENT Manufactured by Rolex from a particularly hard, corrosion-resistant ceramic, this exclusive component is virtually impervious to scratches, and its colour is unaffected by ultraviolet rays. It also offers excellent polishability ensuring an exceptional, long-lasting lustre. Source: http://static.rolex.com/flipboard/cerachrom.html |

Are you meaning when you turn it?
If so you might have just move some gunk around underneath it. Just hold it under some warm water and turn it a few times. Salt, etc. from your sweat should melt away. |

The bezel shouldn’t have a hard time turning or be scratchy from giving your watch a wash. If it doesn’t go away I’d concede getting it addressed. Whenever I’m washing my watch I’ll usually spin the bezel a few times, but I’ve never encountered what you described.

Thanks for the responses :-)
So to clarify what I meant a little - the action of turning the bezel felt much less smooth than before cleaning. No scratches on the bezel (poor choice of wording really lol). It’s been a few hours and it’s feeling better now; it might have just been some water still between the case and bezel causing an uneven action. Great watch though - I have no doubts about its durability. I think just because it’s new and my first luxury watch it’s easy to let the mind wander...! |

It seems you've cleared out that 'stuff'. Congrats.

Soak it in some warm soapy water for about an hour. Should be fine. Could be you just got some dirt or something underneath the Bezel that little soak should release everything.

Soak it for a few hours(even overnight) in very warm water with Dawn liquid soap and then work the bezel then rinse.
Also, I find that when I shower with my watches on I have to do this less, if at all. |
