maintaining the value

Hello .. I know that you guys was going to say that the most important of the watch is one you like and really enjoy it and many more things but it turns out I like all models of Panerai and it's hard to decide. And in the course of my life I have bought and sold several watches not for business but it appears a new model or something like that and I am changing. I have no budget to save all that I buy so I ask if you guys could tell me which one is or wich are the models which Panerai keeps its value over time.
It is very important to know this for me and I thank you.
Best for you guys

The more "basic" models hold their value better as they are the "entusiast" watches.

Basic, meaning simple 2 or 3 handers.

There is a risk with Panerai however that they'll make a model exactly like what used to be popular and destroy your value. These aren't stocks, but watches.

So, stay simple and you "should" be fine.

I'm also talking all of these but used. They almost all take a hit from MSRP.

+1 on mfers post.

Simple model usually retains collectors interest.
Superior movement can also have an effect on enthusiasts value. Usually more expensive.

cheers

IMO, pam value is in the roots akin to other house brands, though beauty is in the beholder :)

agree with Mik... 190 hold its value pretty good so far...
or go for old pam like 9A, 9B... I think prices for those models are pretty stable... IMO

Go historic, manual, and base. Thats the basic values of panerai investment.

I agree with the above comments. I also fear that Panerai is quickly becoming a bit of a watered down brand with way too many models and novelites, and their large size doesn't play too well in this new era of discrete consumption.

This is coming from someone who has collected them over the years and just started picking up Rolex this year, moving opposite what some others do.

I would opt for a 000, 005 or a 380 if you prefer radiomirs.

Very useful all your explanations. The only thing I do not see any white face There is any reason in particular? For when you buy a watch apart from what you like in my case I like the story, the essence, the glamor of what I'm wearing and it seems that only occurs in Panerai with black face. Or it seems to me?

From what I've seen in the market, if you get a good deal on the used market for a historic or base, and you look after the watch, you are unlikley to loose much at all. Just buy smart and then enjoy the watch.

As people have said, stick with the 000, 005, 111 or 112, and you should not lose much at all... if you wait past Feb the price might even rise.... =)

Watches hold their value when more than 2 people want it. Whats popular today means nothing tomorrow.

Also pays to buy early when prices were lower which of course doesn't help you now.

Just buy what you like and not worry about value

Suggestion though - G Series Logo - 500 pieces and they changed the L Swiss L to L Swiss Made L the next year.

Minus the number of owners that had them DLC'd means even less

Not sure about the G Series Marina logo. Might have to check that one out
