Traded in my GMTII C...
For an Explorer II. While I really liked the GMTII, I just like the overall look and feel of the EII better. I figure all I'm really giving up is the rotating bezel/3rd time zone of the GMT, which I never really used. I think the GMT is the more popular of the two, but the EII is just more visually appealing to me, and it completes my Rolex tool watch collection. Now I have a no date sub 14060m, a 39mm Explorer I, and the new 42mm EII inbound Friday. Happy days. :)

Nice trade. The Explorer II is a comfortable watch and the orange GMT hand is much easier to read than the GMTII IMHO. I only wish Rolex would make the Explorer II with the previous case dimensions, upgraded bracelet & the new orange GMT hand. THAT would've the perfect tool watch fo me.

Personally I prefer the GMT because even though I don't always need to track a third time zone, I can track a second one with a turn of the bezel and not have to take the watch off to set it. But the E2 is also a great watch and very handsome. If we all liked the same thing we'd all be wearing the same watch. Enjoy!!

Congrats. I am a Polar guy myself. I wear white french cuff dress shirts so the white dial really pops. Tried the black but just wasn't the same, at least when I am in a suit and tie.

Good choice. I own both because as you highlighted, they have very different looks. The Explorer II is more rugged whereas the BLNR is sleek.

Congratulations! Have you considered any of the Tudor tool watches to supplement your tool watch collection? Ranger? North Flag?

I really like the polar version.
But for some reason the case just feels to big for me, even though I like 42mm on some other watches. Great watches tho. Congrats.
