Date Changes After 3 Minutes After !2:00 AM

By the way, I just noticed that in one of my Rolex GMT-Master, the date changes only after 3 Minutes past 12:00 AM. Is this normal? I've always thought that the date should change as soon as the Seconds Hand strikes 12:00 AM. Is there any cause for alarm? What would be the cause for this? Other than that, every thing is okay with the watch and seems accurate.
Thanks.

It's just the way the hands are fixed. No problem with the movement. A watchmaker can re-set them if it bothers you.

Take my advice forget about when the date changes and get some sleep some change a little before some after its a mechanical prosses. And as long as the date has changed by next morning and you can see it's changed that's far more important. The date changes when the hands have done two complete revolutions around the dial, the hands could be a few mm off but nothing to worry about.

Except when resetting, I don't think I have ever watched the date change on my DateJust.

Bought my Hulk brand new. Date changes at 8 minutes past midnight. This really is not a big deal. It came from the factory this way, don't sweat it.

My GMT IIC has been changing at 00:04 since brand new. No reason to worry.

Rolex advertises that it changes "instantly" and many confuse this with changing at "exactly" midnight. It would be a very, very rare mechanical movement that could change at an exact time without hours of fiddling with it.

Pretty common issue but can be fixed if it really bothers you.
