Welcome to TRF.
These are two completely different watches in terms of how they wear and functionality. Any insights into what you want in a watch? |

I prefer the DJ - and will probably make that my next watch.
Either white or blue dial, white gold bezel, stick indicators. We have similar tastes. Explorer II is way more popular here though. We look forward to seeing plenty of photos once you decide! |

The best way to find out is to try them both on and see what speaks to you more.

I remember buying a 36mm DJ after wearing 40mm watches for many years and I just couldn't get used to the size. Had to flip it in the end. For that reason I'd pick the exp ii. Size matters, lol!!!

6 digit exp 2 vs 5 digit DJ or 5 digit vs 5 digit? DJ with sticks, romans, arabics, diamonds? For a 6 digit exp2 vs 5 digit DJ you could probably buy a DJ and 5 digit ExpII for the price of the 6 digit Exp2. Definitely need some more information to help with this one.

DJ is a great all round piece, from suit to beach
if you never dress formally the exp is just as versatile which is why i went with it but if you wear a suit would take the DJ

I would go with a SUB C!
But if it's between those two, then 216570 Exp2 all the way! Best of luck - I just bought my first Rolex and it has been a fantastic journey and experience. Bryant |

Welcome to TRF. You have to ask yourself, are you a sporty more casual guy? Or a more dressy guy? If sporty & casual, EXii. Dressy, DJ. The great thing about the EXii, imho, it can dress up just as easy as it can dress down. My vote, EXii. Keep us posted!

I have just recently entered the world of Rolex by buying my first - a polar Explorer II 16570 (prior version, 40mm), and I'm very happy I did. Although I only had the pleasure of wearing it for about a week then sent it off to the Rolex service center and have been patiently waiting for a month, hoping to get the call any day now. Can't wait to have it back on my wrist! I travel quite a bit for business, so for me there is so much functionality with the second time zone. And when not travelling for business, I'm also a pilot so I'll keep the second time zone set at Zulu time. And on top of it all, it can dress up to a suit easily, or all the way down with Nato's very well, and it looks great all around. As you'll hear repeatedly, buy the seller first - in my case I went with DavidSW and highly recommend him. Good luck!
