Hulk Help

I have a line on a Hulk. They are holding it for me for 24 hours to decide. I went in to get on the list for a Pepsi or Hulk and they happen to have had a Hulk that just came in. It was still in the shipping coffin.

Now that it’s actually a reality I’m a little unsure of wearing a green watch. I know this topic comes up a lot. Please give me your best thoughts - pros and cons - of the Hulk. Pictures and opinions please.

Thanks,

Mike

It’s a great watch for me. One of a kind from the Rolex brand. I will get two if I have the opportunity. That tells you how much I want this LVc. Good luck!

A definite yes for me! I've always loved the Submariner and it definitely looks good in black. However, when the LV came out, it was so different and stood out so much, that I really loved this model over the LN.

When you wear this watch it definitely catches the eye, and there is no mistake on what it is. Knowledgeable people know that it's one of the newer/unique models of the Submariner. I really love how the sunburst green dial looks in the sunlight!

If I were you, I would buy it. Wear it for a little while and see how you like it. If you decide that you don't, you can always just resell it and move on. You'll probably be able to make a little bit on it, but even if you sold it for exactly what you paid, you got to "test drive" it for awhile. Who knows, you may end up falling in love and keep it!

+1

Hesitating on it can only mean you aren't 110% sold. Why plunk down hard earned $$ on something you aren't fully excited with?

The Hulk is one of the most popular watches on this forum, so I think you probably already have a good idea of what kind of feedback you're going to get. You are the only one who's opinion truly matters. If you're not sure about it/have any doubts then I'd say pass (although reselling would be easy, and you'd make a quick buck.)

If you're on the fence and looking for a reason to justify the purchase, then rest assured that this thread will accomplish just that. In which case, congrats on the beautiful new piece

I love the hulk and had one briefly. I regret selling it but when I wore it, the watch just felt so..... conspicuous. Maybe that was my own hang up but I’m a bit more of an under the radar type of guy. So I spent a lot of time staring at it but less time wearing it. And like guitars, if I don’t use it I move it along. Something to consider maybe?

I feel your sentiment. I think it’s an amazing dial and looks great. But I would too would personally hesitate to buy one. Too many others out there that I find equally or more appealing.

A lot of people hated the Hulk then loved it. I say just get it, try it for a few weeks, and worst case if you don't like it, you can always sell it on here for a profit.

The LVc is a lot like a 18k Sub in the way you know if your personal style can handle a more wrist presence Rolex. If your very conservative then it’s not the watch for you. Pass on the LVc and you will have the next guy in line believe he is the luckiest guy of the year.

So I love the Hulk when I’m in the right area. One thing I hate about this watch is that the lighting in my office makes this piece look kind of dull/grey which I wasn’t a big fan of since I spent a lot of time in the office. I always look for an all around piece that looks good in every situation when buying a piece. That being said, I don’t know what you do for a living and where you spend most of your time. I’d say Pepsi is more of a classic piece that will go well with everything. That being said, you already seem to have a GMT so the hulk could compliment your collection well. I’d say at this point, up to your gut feeling

I absolutely love the hulk. The dial changes colors with different lighting, the glidelock, it’s a sub...but different. I like it a lot and I think it really shines during the sunny summer months with that sunburst green.

However, if you’re unsure I’d say find one that you’re 100% in love with. That piece will
Likely stay with you forever if so.

Best of luck on your decision!

Dial is awesome. Bezel not so much. As for you depends on your current collection. I don’t think the Hulk is an everyday every situation watch. If you have a large collection and the Hulk will be an occasional watch go for it. I have a good collection and still can’t justify a Hulk for the little I would use it. Buy because you like it not because it’s a shame called popular hard to get watch.

AD offered me one in 2015 for 5% off, but green is not my favorite color so I passed. Regretting it now.

The Hulk is very much loved on this forum. It’s just not for me. I don’t like green on a watch. In fact, last week I turned down the chance to buy one at my AD for MSRP. I would go with the Pepsi the downside being that you could wait a long time for it. The Hulk might satisfy your itch for a watch until a Pepsi is offered to you. At that point you could get the Pepsi and keep the Hulk or just sell the Hulk (you won’t lose much if anything on it if you get it at MSRP).

I love it. It is the one watch I am certain I will own till I die. The green is unique, some may not be down for it, but I love that about it. It isn’t an everyday watch as I feel it clashes with certain bright colored clothes. For example, I like pink shirts and I think the LVc clashes too much with them.
