Q Timex is back!
I just received an email alert from Timex and just placed my order for the Q Timex. It’s a terrific beater watch that borrows heavily from the Rolex “Pepsi” right down to the jubilee style bracelet. Only $179. They sold out the last time they were offered, mostly due to this HODINKEE article:

Just got mine from the UPS man! Got it during the restock a couple days ago. It's my only quartz, but wow, it's so cool!
If this had a mechanical movement in it I'd be over the moon, but truth be told, it's fine as it is.

Mine was delivered yesterday from Timex ... Its a great looking watch ... I'm sure it cost them less than $20 to build it .. so they making a tidy profit ... The only disappointing part is the cheesy-azz clasp ... everything else is great - even the packaging was top notch.

This is why I love watches.
Timex doing this true to their history and not pretending on it is so authentic. Love that it’s a simple quartz and only ‘$20’ to make. If it were more than $200 or so and added an auto it would be seen as a poseur re-ed and die on the shelf. Maybe even be laughed at. Give Timex an award already.

i really struggle to understand the Hodinkee led hype for a quartz watch with a GMT bezel yet no GMT hand and a Seiko like day date window.
You get what you pay for people. If you like it that’s what matters but an enthusiast watch it is not. It’s A QUARTZ TIMEX... |
