Chris I agree with you. I am in my 20s and many of my friends are/were into the "big" watch fad. I must admit, I kind of jumped on that bandwagon for a bit too but didn't stay long as I have a small wrist. I have always been a lover of the older style case sub/GMT/sd but was really excited about the supercase, thinking it was more modern and unique. I bought a GMT IIc and brushed the PCLs to tone it down a bit. Now the GMT is great and I love the watch, especially the improved bracelet, but I am starting to grow tired of the bling, most notably from the bezel. I also find myself questioning the size proportions on my 6.75 in wrist. I recently bought a matte 16800 and I find myself pulling that watch out more and more due to its proportions and it's classic understated style. The old style case seems to fit better in my wrist. I see my 16800 becoming my daily and the GMT sitting in my safe for occasional wear.
I do wonder how this generation of watch will be viewed 20 years from now.
