Icon3 Debaufre/Steinhart Nav-B

Just picked up this Debaufre Nav-B. It's the 44mm automatic with the ETA 2824-2. I believe this is an LE model and is #165. I've had a IWC BP before and truly missed it but didn't feel like dropping all the coin on another one. This watch at 44mm is a nice budget substitute.

As I understand it, Debaufre was the US distributor for Steinhart watches, with the only thing changing was the name. I guess they have parted ways, so Debaufre is no longer producing this watch. You can still get it from Steinhart if you're interested.

Here are a couple of quick photos I took on my iPhone last night...

I like that one, Jason. Simple, bold and legible. Definitely reminds me of an IWC Big Pilot. Nice piece.

I'm a big Steinhart fan. IN fact, the two are now different companies. Don't know much about Debaufre, but I'll vouch for Steinhart's customer service, and no matter how you slice it, the watches are a good value. The fliegers are not quite up to the fit and finish of say, Stowa, but not as expensive either.

My biggest issue with Stowa is simply the fact they are 40mm, which for the majority of Rolex wearers is probably fine, but for an old-school style flieger watch, 40mm is simply too small for me.

Love the simplistic original pilot look of the Nav-B. The blue hands specifically really stands out. Too bad for skinny wrists such as mine 44mm is on the large side. That one reason i'd vote for Stowa (and Archimede on as slightly lower scale)

Anyways, that's one fine watch you've got there
