#Thankyou, #UK availability, # Incoming...

Firstly I would like to thank forum members for their valuable posts, which made the whole process easier for me, when selecting a model all the way through to purchasing. Just by reading the threads the majority of my questions had been answered.

I decided to go for the Submariner date, having weighed it up carefully against the gmt 2 and blnr. I originally wanted the blnr, but for the wrong reasons. because it was rarer at the moment, seemed to have higher resale etc. I settled on what I like, not worrying about other aspects.

As for UK availability, I started to look on Monday. It initially seemed like a futile task, however with persistence I found one today. I rang roughly 60+ authorised dealers, and got mixed responses. All had waiting lists and only a few were taking new names. Some would not take my name unless I had purchased from them before. I spoke to one branch of a large chain a few days ago, who said they might have one in today, and true to their word phoned me today, and I payed over the phone. They are transferring it to my local branch who dismissed by enquiry in seconds for me to collect

So many thanks, without this forum I may not of got to this point.

That's great for you, I had a similar experience with members here helping me scout one out. And enjoy picking it up from the dismissive AD and make sure you sing Pretty Woman the whole time!
