OEM Rubber for Speedy

Do you guys know if the new rubber strap that comes with the new moonshine gold speedy will be available to buy on its own? Looks pretty cool and has some lunar prints on the inside of the strap. Would look dope on the steel speedy pro.

I would be surprised if it wasn't available. The ADs/boutiques carry a bunch of strap options. And yes I agree, that would look great on a steel speedy.

At some point I would think it would be available. Give a Boutique a call and see.

Called them today and placed an order. Although they have no clue when it could arrive. $315 without the deployant, not bad.

It will be for sale. Omega isn't Rolex..... and that is a good thing.

So which deployant is going to be put on there? Seperate order? Or do you already have something?

Thanks for this thread and finding out from the boutique Mike! I was going to start the same thing. Then with the clasp, the cost will be around $550-$600 which is not bad for this option and it will look great on Speedy Pro.

I already have the stainless steel deployant. I use it on my omega leather straps.

What does it taper down to? Curious which deployant would be needed.

Thanks...

Hopefully they set the lug holes on the gold case at the same position as they are on the SS case. I remember reading that the rubber strap from the 300M was not a match up on the NTTD Titanium case and it ended up requiring some elbow grease and a curved spring bar to get the rubber strap to sit on the Titanium case.

Speedy straps usually taper from 20mm to 18mm.

Just making sure, I know the cordura strap tapers to a 16.

Thanks!

It’s just a guess. Not 100% sure. There’s no info on the webpage.

Just checked and you’re right. Some Leather straps taper to 16mm as well, others to 18mm. So who knows.

Per Hodinkee, it tapers to 16mm. All 3861 based Speedmaster variants do taper down to at least 16. 15 on the 50th anniversary moonshine.

This looks to be correct. I have the new 3861 Speedy Sapphire Sammich on the Black Leather Strap. The strap is only marked 20mm so I measured the end near the Stainless Steel Folding Clasp and it looks like it's 16mm.

FWIW I have the same OEM deployant from Omega in SS for the SMP 300M, and it tapers to 18mm by my measurement.

Outside, or inside - for clarity's sake.

To clarify, Omega makes a 16mm clasp and an 18mm clasp. The straps fitted for the 3861 Speedmasters all use the 16mm clasp. The 1861/1863 Speedmaster used either the 16mm or 18mm depending if you bought the SS or Hesalite. This rubber strap uses a 16mm clasp.

Looks good! How does the rubber wear and compare to other third-party rubber straps?

is the width 20mm?
is there a 19mm option?

I would like it on the 321 however that is a 19mm spacing?
