Does anyone have a rolex with pulsometer?

It looks like there was a daytona with it called "the doctor"?

I have tried looking for it myself. No dice. Not the watch to buy, but just more in depth info on it.

You can bet John Mayer has one or two of these…but I can’t say for sure if he’s a member here or not

He has one featured in his second talking watches. He is definitely a serious collector but I find him talking about watches as insufferable as most of his solo work.

Also came on pre-Daytona Cosmo's, and a Telemeter too in blue and even rarer red ....as such much cheaper and I really like the, albeit busy, dual tachy/tele and tachy/pulse dials ! Tele below btw:

If you need one, go Omega.

I don't get the need for a watch pulsometer. Why not just count the beats for 15 seconds and then multiply by four?

That’s not exactly what it does. It’s easier to simply press the pusher, count 15 beats without even needing to be looking at the watch, and then simply stopping the hand with the pusher and reading the number it’s pointing to (for instance 72 equaling 72 BPM) rather than counting beats, looking at watch the whole time, p, stopping, and then multiplying 18 x 4 (for example).

Wouldn't it be easier to just glance at the regular seconds hand for 15 secs, though, while counting beats/pulses, then multiply by 4 to get BPM? I take my pulse a couple of times a week, and that's what I do. Not sure I'd bother with the pulsometer scale even if I had one.

Very true sir for most general applications where accuracy is not paramount...but, if you'll excuse my statistical pedantism (it's one of my other hobbies), of course if you count for 15 seconds, the rate calculated per minute will be accurate ONLY TO THE NEAREST FOUR UNITS (as you will only get rates in multiples of 4 e.g. 64, 72, 92, etc).

Sounds about right, Paul. My resting heart rate is usually 64 (easy to remember, as it's the year I was born) and so a pulse count of 15 in 15 secs tells me all is well

PS, as a grammatical pedant myself, I should point out that it is "pedantry" not "pedantism".

I consider myself appropriately (but in friendly way), rebuffed, rebuked, chastened and chastised :-)

Nice - This one is for the 'Doctor' who has a bit more time/is more thorough.... as it's 30 pulses (then measure), rather than the Daytona 15 pulses (then measure) register.
