Just like the Apollo 50th, all sounded good until I got to the price. No way would I pay $14K for this watch

Such a disappointment in regards to the pricing. The roadmap on how to increase demand for the long haul is right in front of them with their competitor rolex. Sure this will “sell out” this year but then it will take a major nosedive in secondary market and then no one will trust them to buy such expensive SS pieces in the future. Too short sighted. Best way is to price it just right and then watch demand go through the roof which preserves value in the long run.

There will be discounts to around the 10-11 k range for this watch however since it is not an automatic, is not waterproof it is not a Daytona competitor other than the price. The Daytona has a much more modern movement and is more accurate. This 321 movement is just hype because everyone who collects vintage omega's thinks its better, rare maybe but certainly not better. I do think it was smart to go with the Saphire sandwich design, I never understood why someone would want a plastic crystal that scratches.

The price just seems high to me. I might be wrong. Very curious to watch how the market reacts to this price over the year. |

I guess my one question would be, does the bracelet fit the FOIS?

Daytona is inferior in every possible way to this watch. It’s not close. Daytona famous for association with the salad dressing guy, speedy, well saved Apollo 13. Speedy, legible and can be read, yes, Daytona not so much. Daytona excessively shiny, speedy still a tool watch. Daytona excellent movement, speedy 321 legendary movement. The only way the Daytona wins is in water resistance. The production will likely be about equal or perhaps less with the 321.

It will be like the 50th jubilee. First AD offered a discount, I made an advance, and after a week there was a phone call that they were taking this discount. I withdrew from this purchase from my nerves.

In my opinion, Omega have totally lost their minds!
First the new Unlimited Bond Watch for more than a Submariner Date and now an unlimited handwound Speedy for more than a Daytona! In the past, they have been relatively modest priced and limited, now it seems that Omega has lost it totally! |

Ok, someone has to play Devil's Advocate on the price.
In-house movement High quality decoration Excellent customer service Etc. If you desire a lower-priced OMEGA they have that. If you want higher-end, high build quality they have that too. Remember when Hyundai cars were ~$6k. Now Hyundai has higher-end, higher quality lux-like cars at higher pricing. PICK ONLY TWO High Quality Low Price Great Customer Service What would you pick from the above?

Not sure what you mean with high quality decoration.
From the renderings, it looks like a standard industrial finishing, nothing really special. Machine made grooves... |

On the low-end, for about $100 Swatch makes a nice mechanical timepiece never touched by a human hand. In-house movement too. OMEGA is offering something hand-built, and they're re-making a movement many people seem to desire. Am truly glad i got the OMEGA 50th, and don't at all mind paying msrp (plus tax). So yeah, time will tell about the new 321 steel and demand. It will be interesting to see how it goes, and those who initially balked, and how they feel a few years from now.

Omega knocked this one out of the park in my opinion, along with the 50th last year. Great attention to details, not doing too much and nice historical touches. now if all the speedys were going to be priced this, then no. this is a great "limited" edition. |

Looks like the same as 50th bracelet, that's $700 or thereabouts. OMEGA Fourms says it fits many Speedies. Very comfy too.

My sales associate at the OB said that there were only about 100 coming into the US this year. Not sure if it’s true or not but that’s a pretty low number if so.

Swatch isn’t a family trust like Rolex. They’ll want to maximize profit. There will be plenty of 321’s to go around.

You do know it’s much less accurate than the 4130 in the Daytona and less water resistant. And that’s a better movement and watch you say. I respectfully disagree. Even haters will acknowledge the 4130 is by far the best chronograph watch out there on the market. And I love my Speedy Moonwatch.
