Ultimate 4 watch collection

What would be your ultimate 4 watch collection be?

Surely it should address the complete variety and depth namely:
a. Diversity of Complications
b. Type of metal
c. Bracelet/Strap
d. Iconic status
e. Rarity

Philippe Dufour Simplicity
Rexhep Rexhepi Chronomètre Contemporain II
Kari Voutilainen Vingt-8

For me it’d be the following:

A minute repeater most likely Patek 5078G
A diver, most likely Rolex Submariner
A GMT, most likely Patek 5164 or Rolex 126710blro
A Chrono, Speedmaster 321

Any modern Rolex sports watch.

It has to be holy trinity + a Rolex.

Realistically speaking I may see myself consolidating my current 6 watch collection into the following 4, though I don't know how long it'll take or if I am ever willing to part with my current Rolex lineups:

1. Patek 5164a Travel Time
2. Patek 5726/1a-014 Annual Calendar
3. Rolex 126719BLRO Meteorite
4. Rolex 116500LN Daytona

My preference will probably change over time, but for now these are what I'm aiming at.

yep sounds reasonable

what are thoughts on Richard Mille? somehow i fear they can bring a collection out of balance due to their size and style (same for AP offshores). but still.. they are pretty grail-ish as well and could replace perhaps option 3 in above list:)

If I had to condense my current set of watches down to four it would be

Patek 5970P
Patek 5167
Rolex 5 digit SD
Omega Speedmaster 321 Ed White. (Have a Daytona but wear this one more)

Top 4

Bottom 3 are all qualified substitutes but I just don’t see as much wrist time.

The exp II is my ultimate travel watch and is a must for my top 4
Pelagos fxd is ultimate beater and fixed lugs make this so satisfying, not going anywhere.

Nautilus imho is ultimate sports/daily watch, so much so that I want to add gold version on strap… are two nautilus too much for a 4 watch collection?

If so there are 3 on the bench.
Sub is the goat but I just don’t find myself wearing it anymore.
Explorer is fantastically understated (I wear on black leather strap)
Speedy 321 is pending, I am next on boutiques list but haven’t experienced yet.

Most are in the collection a couple are on their way in.

The above is real world collection vs this drool worthy dreamer

FPJ souscription Tourbillon
Rm skull tourbillon
Patek 5950
Patek 5711 Tiffany blue.

That would cover it.

QP/WG - Patek 5740
Dress Watch - FP Journe Ruby Tourbillon Souverain
Sport Watch - RG RM72
SS & Best Bracelet - AP 16204 Jumbo Skeleton

That covers a wide array of needs, complications, brands and metals. If it could only be one it would be the Ruby FPJ, I was fortunate enough to try on one in person and have never been blown away more. Was spectacular.

Both of these are GREAT lists imho. Get one PP so that's all out of your system so you can focus on higher-end timepiece.

Ultimate to me has evolved to simplistic pieces, matching in design elements I love with dial variety.

Now, if I were spending money with reckless abandon, it would be:

ALS Zeitwerk Striking Time
PP Aquanaut GMT
Rolex DD in olive
Rolex Skydewller in blue

Outside the “ultimate” group would be a Rolex diver as a travel/mow the grass watch.
