1- Rolex Sub- great all around watch, not have to worry about banging it up
2- AP Royal Oak Chrono- frankly the best looking Chrono on the market in my opinion
3- PP 5196/Upcoming 6196- pure elegance in leather strap
4- PP 5164A- have something on rubber and the GMT complication

I’ve thought about this exact situation for a while actually, 3 main watches and perhaps a ‘wildcard’. The above 4 are my bread and butter.

For me the 5711 is there on merit and is most certainly not a makeweight. I simply adore it. From a design viewpoint, this watch is a masterpiece and I can imagine myself wearing it for the rest of my life without ever getting sick of it. From a practical viewpoint I prefer to have a sport watch in my collection especially with the humid weather and frequent torrential downpours here.

Personally my top 4 would be:

1. Rolex Daytona 116519 meteorite dial
2. Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5968G
3. Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726/1A
4. Richard Mille RM67-02/RM72-01Ti

Yep Michael, I agree with you .Although I have several Pateks , ( not as many as you , ha! ) as well a few of the holy trinity and a few Rolexes, my 5711 white that I purchased over 20 years ago is far and away my most frequent driver . For me it is soo special in the thinness of it, the comfort and just the superb overall fine design and excellent finish . I would be satisfied to have just that one although I enjoy the others occasionally.
Just my experience. Thanks Michael, michael the humble .

Very nice gathering. I particularly like to see the satiny black strap for the 5270P as I don't like brown ones. It looks superb.

Here are my 4 dream watches:

1. Patek 5990/1R - ultimate king of all Nautilus, useful complications, and just incredibly beautiful watch!

2. AP RO "Jumbo" 16202ST - absolute OG of luxury sports watches with integrated bracelets. Absolutely LOVE EVERYTHING about the watch - size, look, history, etc.

3. Rolex Daytona 116500LN white dial - imho, THE best/most beautiful/comfortable sports watch Rolex offers today. It's a perfect watch that I think Rolex did such an incredible job on.

4. Patek 5711/1A - any dial (blue, olive green, Tiffany), and because it's the most modern version of the OG of the Nautilus line.

5. This is a runner up - VC Dual Time "Everest" OS LE - such a beatufil watch.

So far... I'm 1/5 - lol. You can try guessing which 1/5 :)

4 is tough.

You need I suppose:

1. A dedicated sport watch - Vacheron Everest Dual Time
2. A dedicated dress watch - Patek 5370P
3. Something for when you are feeling wild - Gruebel Forsey Double Balancier Convexe
4. Tweener piece for travel, semi formal, sporty, etc. - AP Royal Oak Flying tourbillon SS

Now that said, there's no way in heck I could stick to just these 4 but for the moment that's my list...could change in 3...2.........

Wow some of you guys have the ultimate 4 watch collections! I could only imagine and dream about owning a AP royal oak and PP Nautilus in one collection let alone even owning one. Just one of those watches are holy grail status that I will never ( in my current financial situation) actually own and enjoy. Guys enjoy them and appreciate them because 99% of the world including me will never get that opportunity. Cheers!

I enjoy the nautilus perp more. I would say it's more on the refined side. The AP perp is more on the sporty side. I enjoy both :) but if I were to choose one, it would be the nautilus perp. It has a very comfortable bracelet and nice heft.
