Omega Speedmaster Collection Journey and Wrist Shots

After a nice and fun 15 year Speedmaster journey, this is probably the end game with this Fab 5.

My collecting journey started with a Speedmaster where my budget was limited. Over time, I find Speedies in general are the most versatile and basic time pieces in my collection where I can go back again and again and find joy. Each time, it gives me such great feeling... the presence of history.. the crisp look of the white dials.. just pure joy. They are truly amazing pieces and I am fortunate to have these beautiful birds. I hope you also find joy in it's various iterations (without losing the DNA) and enjoy just as much as I have

A few wrist shots to share here

This is quite the journey indeed, Fred. I can only imagine the additional details and parts to the story behind each one. Getting to the stage of enjoying what you own is fantastic and sensible given what's there.

That’s a great collection, thanks for sharing. How are you liking the Snoopy, all ‘hype’ aside?

Thanks Gents for the compliments.

Snoop 50th is a special piece. Ultra-man (ST2) and original Mitsukoshi Panda models were cool but they can’t keep up with the 50th. If they made this model as regular production, it will break records (they won’t).

I hope they will make enough to take care of all who are waiting on the list

Great choices, just goes to show there's something for everyone in the Speedy realm. My choices would be very different if I had to pick 5. Enjoy in good health F.

Awesome collection Fred.

I agree, there some sort of intangible feeling I get wearing a Speedy. I’m only have the one, but I’m loving it

These are amazing. I just love how varied this collection is within the same style/model series. Enjoy them in good health.

Question for you veteran speedy owners - are any of these water resistant to at least 100m?

I currently own two Omega’s: the 2264.50 Seamaster and the Aquaterra 2518.50 so I’d love if possible to get a Speedy to have at least 100m of WR.

I think that’s just it. The beauty of speedmasters is in its versatility. A watch has to look good but more importantly, it has to feel great on the wrist. While the racing bracelet is more robust on my Moonphase, the 3861 polished bracelet on Snoopy gives a more Rolex jubilee bracelet feel.. more dressy and special. We can also get into NATO and leather strap combos with the older tritium dials and they are also great. There are so many ways to enjoy these combinations the way you want it :-)

Fantastic assemble of speedies, Fred. I remember seeing your pics, and the one I perhaps miss the most is the Mitsukoshi!

Very nice collection. I really like the Speedy Tuesday and CK 2998. There are so many great Speedies out there.

There is a reference that has 100m water resistance. Omega Speedmaster 50th Anniversary Limited Edition (lacquer dial, caliber 3201, stop seconds, COSC certified, 100m water resistance) ref. 311.33.42.50.01.001. An absolutely lovely watch.

Funny thing for me personally is when I first got into watches a couple of years ago, I didn’t think I liked the Speedy or chronographs in general. Turns out, I really love them. With time I really started appreciating the perfect design, simplicity, symmetry, history, and selection within the model line. I’ve currently got a factor brown dial Speedy, FOIS, and Blue Side Of The Moon (an amazing gift from my girlfriend).

There are many more I want including the CK 2998 (both the red and the one the OP has), FOIS in Sedna gold, possibly a precious metal Speedy (likely the new Moonshine on rubber), the 50th Anniversary LE I listed above, and there are undoubtedly a few more I’d love to own.

Very nice collection! My favorite is your 3rd photo with the white dial panda with the lollipop chrono seconds hand. Which model is this?
