Hour hand jumping/stuttering when setting the time
Hi guys,
I have a weird thing happening on my brand new speedmaster 3861. The hour hand is "jumpy" and seems to stutter when I set the time clockwise. What i mean is when i turn the crown and make the minute hand rotate smoothly, the hour hand rotates, then jumps a bit, rotates, jumps, etc. This doesn't happen when setting the time counter-clockwise. Despite that the watch keeps time correctly. Any feedback or opinion on that? I'd be very interested to know what's the technical reason behind this hand behavior and if it is necessary to send it to service (which would bother me VERY much as it is brand new, not even sized and worn yet) |

I can only say that mine does not do this. I would take it to your AD and have him check it out. Possibly needs to go in for warranty work. Good luck

I agree. Mine doesn't do this either. See what your AD can do BUT don't let it bug you too much in the interim if it's keeping time well.

Mine does this very subtly. You have to be paying close attention to notice it. While it doesn't thrill me in the least, my copy keeps perfect timing and otherwise performs flawlessly. It does cause me to subtract a few points from Omega. I haven't attempted to detect this behavior based on which direction I turn the crown though. I need to do that.
