Opinions 1680

Hi All,

I have been looking for a nice 5513 and 1680 Matte dial and have come across this 1979 1680 that looks to be all original and in very good condition.

Could I please seek your opinions / advice on this one pls. Thanks in advance for taking the time to look.

Looks nice at first glance. I noticed on IG that @springer is also selling a lovely 1680.

Nice overall IMO, but I believe the left side chamfers are redone. They're not the same as the right ones.

Looks good to me but some price

That’s over £15K but maybe I’m out of touch with market

Unfortunately I am based in the UK and springer does not ship outside of the US

Service plexy, the rest seems period correct. (Dial, hands, date wheel, crown/tube)
I would ask for macros of the dial and hands. Hour hand looks cracked (I would ask if was worked on or not). Little stains here and there on the lume plots, depending on how the picture is treated, it might look a bit different in person… Once again, macro would help !

Yes looks ok. Service reverser wheels and Plexiglass (60° degree hard edge clearly visible) as Xavier says. Hands tarnished a bit (but I'm ok with that) - Original crown - check clasp code too i'd suggest. £15k for a white is steep usually £12-13k plate-glass retailer. Don't forget 20% vat plus a possible 2-3% duty (as Switzer not in EU ref point of manuf. - customs often don't add it though but they always add 20%)
Brexit has totally obliterated the hitherto EU < -> UK back and forth unfortunately as others said yesterday. Such a shame.

Thanks so much for the feedback all. The watch sold during the process so I missed this one. The hunt continues!
