Incoming split

As I mentioned in a thread a couple weeks ago, I was able to make a deal for a watch that becomes a foundation in my collection. Thanks to all who offered their thoughts.

I love it, so far, but really need to get it off this shiny, formal, black strap. I’ll post more pics later in better lighting, and hopefully, with a more suitable strap for day to day wear.

Big congratulations Bob

The strap looks the part, but I’ll be interested to see what options you come up with

Congrats that's a lovely complicated piece! So did you trade in the platona and RO in the end?

I ordered some straps from CF, but they’re not here yet. In an act of sacrilege, I matte finished the factory strap. Massive improvement (to me).

Beautiful. I agree it looks better with the matte strap. Not sure though I would have had the guts to sand it myself!

That´s what I call a proper incoming. Congrats.

I love Russell´s on the black/red strap, what a great color combination.

I did. No regrets. I enjoyed owning them, but am not unhappy to be going a different direction.

Thanks! I didn’t go quite that aggressive. Scotchbrite pad, then some Bickmore Exotic to condition the leather afterward. Much easier than I had feared.

Huge congrats on such a special watch - and well-done on the matte finishing - looks great and agree better than the shiny.

Great trade. What a stunner. 2 mass produced watches for a holy grail. Can’t loose with this piece.
