Omega Speedmaster Racing - Impulse buy
so i impulsively purchased my first omega today and wanted to get your thoughts on the size. This is my first omega and was initially shocked when I saw it was 44mm however it doesn't wear like one (at least to me). Other than the height being a little tall (which i'm fine with), visually to my eyes it's not as big on the wrist. I don't know what it is or maybe i was just overlooking it in the store but what do you guys think? too big on my wrist?
The reason i ask is because many years ago i had a tag carerra calibre 16 and that was 43mm and it was HUGE on my wrist...it was (relatively) heavy for a steel watch and i had to get rid of it so when i saw this i was shocked that it didn't have that same effect.... |

It fits you fine. Nice watch. All Speedmasters wear smaller than their stated size. Omega included the crown guards in their measurements and the entire bulge of the case. If you measure the diameter at the bezel it only comes out to around 41mm. That's the part of the watch thy eyes see and are drawn to. They also have a fairly compact lug-to-lug dimension. I've found that their 44.25mm watches wear much closer to a 42.

Congrats! I think it looks great.
I have a 16.5 cm wrist and had no issue with the gsotm size. Phones magnify how it actually looks on the wrist if you shoot a close up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Omega Speedmaster Racing - Impulse buy
It looks really good on you, enjoy.
I’m surprised this version of the Speedmaster racing doesn’t get more consideration from people looking at Daytonas. It has similar design elements, but is larger (Daytona is sometimes criticized as being too small), has a terrific movement, is significantly cheaper and is readily available. It’s only water resistant to 50 meters (vs 100), but I wouldn’t wear either in the water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks great. The lug to lug with Planet oceans and 44 Speedmasters make them fit much better then the size would indicate. Just great design on Omegas part.

Congratulations, stunning watch. Actually just looked one today. And if I didn’t just buy another watch it would have came home. Have to drop the Christmas hints early

A beautiful piece, it is a bigger watch but you can pull it off. I wouldn’t have second thoughts!

Our COO has one. I wouldn’t wear one myself as I’m not crazy about the design but it’s a nice-looking piece.
Congrats and wear in good health! |

It looks great on you. I agree these 44.25mm watches west much smaller; more like a 42mm in my opinion. I’ve got the Moonphase version, which is a bit thicker than the Racing, but it still fits my 6.75”-7” wrist very well.
