Incoming - SBGW231

I have been a fan of GS for years now, bought my first serious mechanical watch an SBGM023 back in 2012. Last week I was paying a visit to a GS boutique when I was instantly amazed to see a perfectly sized time only watch, an SBGW231. I never knew that particular watch until I saw and tried it. It felt perfect for my tiny 6 inch (15 cm) wrist. Price was very reasonable, if not very low for what you get...compared to other watch brands. Fell in love first sight. That boutique didnt give any discount so I went to other GS boutique that could have the piece in 3 days and apparently was willing to give 10% off.

Part of GS Elegance family the 231 is a 37 mm, manual wind - 3 day PR, simple time only, coupled with matte black strap, which enhances the visual towards the dial and polished case. Caseback is decent, movement finishing looks somewhat industrial but with a very good attempt to make it pleasing to see. The hands though, amazing. This is where GS really stands out, hands and case finish are just exquisite.

It is a dress watch, but I think the overall appareance, including especially the matte strap, gives it a certain degree of versatility to dress it down. Wore it today with a sneaker and tshirt.

Very happy with the purchase and want to share the joy :) thanks guys!

Thank you :) It is indeed beautiful. The dial looks so clean and balanced. Looks way better in person than it does in pictures.

Congrats! I also picked up the same watch a week ago. Are you on the last notch on the strap? I have a new bespoke strap coming in this week.
