Seiko(s) to replace my Tudor Black Bay Fifty Eight

I love my Tudor Black Bay Fifty Eight to bits, especially how it pairs with my yellow gold wedding ring, but it is missing a few things I want in a watch: an exhibition caseback and a date function. I love Seiko for their illustrious history and their no nonsense, no ego, completely vertically integrated watchmaking execution.

What Seiko would you recommend which is not too big, has a wonderful steel bracelet, and has a date or day and date function with center seconds? Currently in my collection, I have a JLC Reverso Triple Calendar Moonphase, a possibly outgoing Tudor Black Bay Fifty Eight, and a Seiko 5 on canvas strap.

How is the bracelet? I tried on a Presage bracelet and it felt a bit flimsy in comparison the my Tudor bracelet. I thought their dive watches felt quite a bit more substantial and that appeals to me as this would be more of a beater watch for me.

I would go to a Seiko Boutique or an AD that carries Grand Seiko. Try everything on and see what works for you. Not much price concession from the Boutiques but an AD will deal. Get online and see what you can buy it for. I would keep the 58 as it is a great watch and still has limited availability. Good luck.

Honestly? Go vintage Seiko and have some fun. Any of the 6139’s or 6138’s.
