What is the greatest TV series ?

David (Quicksilver) posted on another thread that his favourite TV series was I Claudius, something I readily agreed with
It is a superb adaptation made in 1976 of the Robert Graves novel starring Derek Jacobi covering the great years of the Roman Empire.

What is your all time favourite TV series?

There are many that could vie for that honor but The Sopranos is at least one of the best.

Lost - With the exception of the last season, which was a little weak, the other seasons always had an ironic twist.

Both Miami Vice and Mangum P.I have honorable mentions from me.

But in today's standards, I really loved shows like Friends, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Boy Meets World, House, and 24.

And btw, American Idol is way too overrated, I can't stand that show sometimes...

Arrested Development. Unbelievably funny, and funnier each time you see a repeat. The best I've ever seen.

The BEST part of American Idol is the initial stage when those goof-balls who think they can sing, come on stage. They really crack me up!!

And the expressions on the faces as well as the reactions of those 3 judges are priceless!!
