My rationale for getting a winder (kindly correct me if i'm wrong):

the winding stem and seals will wear out faster if i keep winding the watch every time i wear it. since i plan to wear the watch only once or twice a week i'd probably have to wind it once or twice a week.

To minimize winding, i plan to switch on the winder only on those days i'm not wearing the watch and only during day time. this would simulate my wearing the watch everyday and taking it off before i go to bed. so wear and tear would be the same as if i wore the watch everyday.

does this make sense? :)

Makes sense in theory. In reality, I fear the slight extra wear to inexpensive crown seals a few dozen times a year will be far less than the wear to the movement operating needlessly for hundreds of hours a year. There are plenty manual wind watches which can tolerate the crown being wound daily with no ill effects. In the end, it's personal preference.

I would be more on this side, though I don't care a lot about wear since I sleep with a watch all the time, feel better like that, so even if I don't move a lot at night still do a little

Thanks! And thanks for all your opinions. I'll just try to balance the wear of the movement with the wear of the winding stem/crown seal since i already have the winder :) if i wear the watch 2x a week that would amount to 104 winds a year. If i wear it once a week that would mean 52 winds per year :)

Great choice on the his and hers. Also, I keep all of my watches on Wolf winders. I think they are great. Enjoy!

We both had our bracelets resized. Went to the local AD the other day. They now fit perfectly :)
