Ask google about Thanos and his theory. You will get a much better answer than I can give.

Humans are a plague on this planet. And an overall horrible species. It’s only a matter of time before the planet fights back in some way.
I don’t think wiping out half of all life is the answer my friend. Besides when it’s over and you see the total truth I guarantee you won’t be surprised. Upset, angry perhaps but not surprised. Besides in the end you get exactly what you want.

I agree it’s not the best answer. But it is “an” answer.

I do think we, as a species, are simply consuming too much. The planet cannot sustain.

But to be honest, I’m not sure what you are saying above. I’m trying to figure it out, I just don’t get it.

Don’t you mean Thanatos?

Thanos is a comic book character...

N95 are gone from pretty much everywhere, except, you guessed it...the grey market.

Too late unless you already have some in a prep kit.

I think they will be nice to have in the coming months. Especially in higher population density areas. The virus is essentially uncontainable and will be on everyone’s doorstep in due time.

Even comic book characters can have theories.

Truly it is.

We are consuming natural resources at an unprecedented rate. It simply can’t continue. The math just doesn’t work.

The oceans alone are at massive risk. And that’s just the beginning. Tip of the iceberg.

The N95 mask is designed to protect the wearer from inhaling the virus from others who are spreading airborne droplets, large, small and aerosoled by unchecked coughs and sneezes.

Medical and first responder staffs are being advised to get control over their supply chain. So I believe they won’t be available for us civilians.

Regular medical masks worn by people who are contagious would help check spreading the virus to family, friends and others within a 6-10’ radius. But they won’t protect you from airborne pathogens.

Anything I found on "Thanos theory" was so nuanced and intertwined with comic book backstories that I got lost in the noise. I know basic facts about some characters but simply don't follow that stuff in any detail to know what's what.

Sorry. I probably shouldn't have asked.

The premise of the most recent movies is that Thanos literally erased half of the population on all planets.

His theory was that if half the population was not removed, the entirety would eventually die off completely because of an overconsumption of resources and an inability to survive.

Our surgical masks are on “allocation,” from distribution. We are allotted a specific number per week.

Thanos was an epic bad guy in the Marvel series. Some of the biggest grossing movies of all time. You literally would have to have zero internet and or television to have not heard of these movies. Ironman, Captain America, Spider-Man, Hulk etc. The bad guy Thanos advocated and dedicated his life to killing half of all life in the universe. In the move Infinity Wars he accomplished it. He killed half of all life.

A good synopsis.

But without stating why he had this theory, it’s incomplete.

It may not matter. Astrophysics will win the day regardless. Our Sun will eventually go into supernova and burn this solar system to a crisp, even if we leapfrog to Mars.

I don't like our consumer-driven society always chasing the next best gadget or material possession. We could certainly learn to enjoy what we have. I'll concede to that.

I'm not much on movies, especially sci-fi. I've watched two of the Ironman movies but that's it out of the list. So, I literally know none of the backstory outside of the entertainment factor.

I understand. Don’t blame you. The marvel movies are pretty good.

I have a hard time watching anything sci-fi. I get too wrapped up in the physics and why something is impossible, then dwell on that and it gets ruined.

Maybe. But from his perspective, he was preserving life as a whole by destroying half of it.

It’s hard to deny that our species is over procreating and over consuming. It’s just math. Wether we choose to admit it or not.

His perspective was insane. Seems to me the Nazis felt the same way as Thanos. The whole world fought against them.

Also I disagree with your assessment on man and the Earth. Sorry my friend.

Places like Northern Tool, Ace, Paint distributors may still have some if having some would be of interest.

And, let's be honest- It isn't our best and brightest who are breeding like bunny rabbits. No, it's the societal leeches. We are at a tipping point- too many suckers, not enough teats.

The IOC released a statement:
"There is no case for any contingency plans or for moving the games," Coates said in a press conference in the Japanese capital after a meeting of the IOC coordination commission with the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee.

Most of the tickets are pre-sold and are non-refundable. Athletes will be in their own village. If the outbreak continues the government might restrict the games to athletes and volunteers only after full screening. Could be a TV-only event. Just random thoughts...
