Seeking Bracelet Advice
Hi All! I am new to the forum, and a new Rolex owner (just picked up my DJ41 on Saturday!). My new watch is configured with the SS Oyster bracelet, and I’m seriously considering in swapping it out for a Jubilee to make my ideal watch.
I’m looking for advice: If I were to sell the Oyster bracelet, what’s the best approach? With all the fraud, how can I assure a buyer that it’s Rolex? Is there any advantage to keeping it? It’s an expensive ‘backup’ for me, but maybe there are reasons I’ve not considered for keeping the extra bracelet. Thank you in advance! |

Hi, and welcome to the forum. On the surface you may today have an itch for the jubilee. It could be the bracelet you envisaged your watch being supplied with, or it could be some more deep rooted preference. Be aware that like fashion your tastes will invariably change in this hobby. This could mean that sooner than you think you could be longing for the oyster bracelet. Many people enjoy the luxury of having both bracelets and the option to switch them out. If you are certain that there is zero probability that this be you, its simple to sell the oyster bracelet on this forum and it’s simple to buy a jubilee, either on this forum or from your AD (direct from Rolex)

My personal opinion on Datejusts is that they look and feel better on a jubilee bracelet. Two tone rose gold models look absolutely gorgeous, IMHO.
Now if you like the oyster enough to keep it as well and can afford to, then I wouldn't see any issue in having both style of bracelet.

I would give the oyster bracelet a little bit more time, you may want to have both.

My 1976 GMT-Master 1675 came with a Jubilee and the first time I sent it to the NY RSC for service I had them change it to an Oyster flip-lock. My two current Rolexes have Oysters, including my DJ36 with polished center links. I'd wait a while before deciding to get a Jubilee for your DJ41.

Keep it. Your watch will be in much better condition than most when you decide to sell.
