Oyster perpetual 39 White dial vs Rhodium dial

Hi friends,

Im so in between of these two. None of them in stock at my AD to try on. However i tried on the red/grape color and do like the fit of it. Just need to decide which color to get between white and grey. What you guys think? Any photos in wrist from distance would help

Thank you all

Go white (more silvery white in person) all day - so clean

That one is so amazing. Question, would it go with suit if needed?

Rhodium+white gold bezel+jubilee looks amazing.
If white then I think above pic with oyster and smooth bezel works

i have the 'steel' version...if you have any type of eyesight issues, the contrast between dial and hands on the rhodium might be an issue for you

White. I do like the rhodium but it tends to look too muted.

No brainer. Just picked up the 39MM White OP a few weeks ago (that was revealed at Basel 2018) from a trusted seller on TRF BNIB because I couldn't find it in any local AD either and couldn't wait :)

Absolutely love it. First non-sub/daytona rolex for me too and find it amazing dressed up and dressed down perfectly. White dial is beautiful!!!

I suspect the white will win a popularity contest and I certainly won’t run it down, in fact I really like it. I do though prefer the Rhodium, hence my choice.

The Rhodium is certainly more low key in most situations, and the dial almost looks black in low light situations, though I think it is more interesting than the white in bright sunlight because of the way the light interacts with the fine sunburst engraving. I have tried (unsuccessfully) to capture it in the pics below. I think it is the near perfect all-purpose watch, as good under a cuff as with shorts and a T-shirt.

That being said you won’t go wrong with either.

I’m confused. I like both too much but I am leaning towards the white. Only because I don’t like the smurf blue dots

Oyster perpetual 39 White dial vs Rhodium dial

I love the blue "pips." I also like the splash of blue on the rhodium YM.

Would that white dial does well when dress up with suit?

Yes, I am wearing a suit right now...and was just flying in Kahki's earlier...and wearing jeans this weekend...and in my bathing suit in nantucket before...

I also think the grey is hard to read...I remember someone saying they flipped theirs specifically because they couldn't read it practically sometimes. Now on the new 2018 version I am not sure if all the sticks have lume on them...and they new grey may be easier to read now than the old grey.....

....but the i can't even really compare how much better and good this white looks. grey on grey watch just blends all together for me no thank you.

I don't think there is a "new 2018 version." I think in 2018 they just added the black and white dials, which each have lume for all hour markers other than 12. The previously available dials (dark rhodium, blue, grape) are still available and unchanged, with lume at 3/6/9 only. Unless someone knows otherwise.

The white is amazing in person. I'd opt for the new black over rhodium as it also has a sunburst dial but much more legible.
